Why Did You Decide to Become a Dentist?
Dr. Thorburn decided that she wanted to be a dentist while she was in high school. She always knew that she wanted to one day work in the medical field, and she really liked the idea of filling such an important role in her local community! She particularly liked the healthy work-life balance that dentistry could provide, which has helped her be an amazing mom while also having a wonderful and fulfilling career that involves helping kids smile brighter.
Where Did You Study Dentistry?
After studying at Baylor University, Dr. Thorburn completed dental school and her residency program at UT Houston. She has been a dentist for nearly a full decade and a pediatric dentist for over five years, with hopefully many more to come! She is currently a member of the American Dental Association, Texas Dental Association, and American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Thorburn is also Board Certified.
Outside of the Dental Office, What Do You Like to Do?
When she isn’t busy caring for little smiles, Dr. Thorburn spends lots of quality time with her husband Chris (who is also a dentist), her two children Alex and Anders, and her dog Muffin. As for hobbies, she really enjoys playing the piano, which has been a passion of hers ever since she first started lessons at only five years old. Some of her other interests include doing Pilates, reading, and traveling! In fact, she’s traveled to over 26 countries in her life so far, with more adventures in mind for the future.
