Meet Our Pediatric Dental Team – Fort Worth, TX

We Make Dentistry Fun

Group of smiling kids laying down with their heads together

Each child who visits our pediatric dental office will be met with warm and friendly faces who are ready to make dental care fun! We know visiting the dentist can be challenging for some children, but the truth is that we go out of our way to make these experiences one-of-a-kind. Whether it is a question your child has or a concern you might express before, during, or after their visit, you can count on us to provide the assistance you both need. We’ll also be happy to familiarize your little one with our Fort Worth pediatric dental office so that they begin to see dentistry as something cool and not something to be scared of.

Joy, Front Office

For Joy, being able to work with children and alongside her daughter has been a blessing, and she’s always excited to work at the office. She studied at Dallas County Community College and was with Dr. Thorburn during her dental school years and residency. After some time, she decided she would join the field of dentistry, and she’s been loving it ever since.

Joy is incredibly proud of her two children, Meghan and Jonathan, and loves spending time with them as well as her grandsons. She also enjoys sewing and making quilts, and she’s been practicing this for many years now. One interesting fact about her: she worked as a Fire Marshall for the City of Dallas for 25 years!

Melissa, Front Office

Originally from Crowley, TX, Melissa has close to a decade of experience working in the dental field. She studied at Tarrant County College to attain her undergraduate degree, and she worked at an oral surgery practice before joining our team. Her favorite part of the job is greeting and making the families feel welcome and comfortable when coming in for their appointments. She also enjoys interacting with the children and seeing their smiles when they leave.

At home, Melissa and her husband enjoy spending time with their six children and their three dogs. Other than helping patients reach their dental goals, she also enjoys strolling through local Farmer's Markets, going on family hikes, trying new restaurants with her husband, having family bowling nights, and refurbishing furniture.

Monica, Dental Hygienist & Dental Assistant

With close to a decade of experience in the dental field, Monica loves making a positive impact in the lives around her through her work as a dental hygienist. Born and raised in Vail, CO, she attended Tarrant College County before studying at Concorde Career College for her certifications. Today, helping children maintain their best oral health while promoting an exciting experience for them is incredibly rewarding for her.

When she isn’t at the office, Monica lives with her boyfriend and their two dogs. Other than being bilingual, she enjoys various hobbies, such as photography, hiking, listening to music and podcasts, and trying out new restaurants. One interesting thing about her is that she was almost born in the Glenwood Canyon in Colorado due to the heavy snowstorm that was happening that day!

Cassie, Dental Hygienist

Originally from Brock, TX, Cassie has spent over a decade in the world of dentistry. She attended Weatherford College and then went on to study at Tarrant County College, where she obtained her license in dental hygiene. She has experience working in both general and pediatric dental hygiene and she loves every minute of her work. Her favorite part of her job is having the opportunity to educate and build positive relationships with children, along with promoting a love for maintaining oral health and relieving them of any dental-related anxiety.

Cassie is married and has two beautiful daughters. On the weekends, she enjoys taking one of her girls to horse lessons and watching her other one practicing on the soccer field. Her hobbies include practicing CrossFit and watching OU football. One interesting fact about her is that she’s been on four dental mission trips to Uganda and India—and she even got to visit the Taj Mahal!
